Renita Gatesi

Renita Gatesi is the Startup Empowerment Program Coordinator and pioneer behind the Startup Bluebook Program at Certa Foundation. She has a keen focus on the intersection of law, technology, and entrepreneurship. In her work at the centre, she has supported startups across Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

As a research fellow at the Center for Law and Innovation, Renita specialises in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) with a primary focus on business negotiations. Her contributions have extended to working on arbitration cases at the Kigali International Arbitration Center, where she has provided support on dispute resolution strategies.

Prior to joining Certa Foundation, Renita was the Project Coordinator for the Mediation and Reconciliation Training Program at the University of Rwanda's Center for International Legal Cooperation, where she dedicated her time to providing pro bono legal services to the rural communities of the Southern Province of Rwanda. She has also supported over 300 women in formulating and establishing businesses in rural areas of Rwanda, empowering them for economic independence through her work with Benishyaka.

Renita holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Rwanda. She is also certified in Business and Human Rights from Lucerne University, Switzerland. Renita has been honoured with the African German Young Leader in Business Award and serves as a UNICEF Canada Youth Leader, demonstrating her commitment to leadership and community impact.
