Zarreen Kamalie

Zarreen is currently getting her PhD in social anthropology in Sweden but she’s originally from South Africa. Her passion is in ethnographic research, focusing on 1) the relationship between governments and their citizens, particularly in postcolonial states, around themes of trust, hope, and imagination 2) sustainable and just policy from an organisational anthropology perspective, and 3) knowledge production and distribution from a decolonial perspective. As of 2023, her doctoral project will explore these themes through innovation and entrepreneurship networks and impact investing between Sweden and Rwanda. She is  also affiliated as a PhD student to the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets at the Stockholm School of Economics, in the research platform on Sustainable Business Development through Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
